It’s not often that you walk out of the office to find a your car blocked in by single seat racing cars but that’s just what happened earlier this week in the Carlin car park. No, we weren’t racing them around the car park… we were unloading and prepping them ahead of the GP3 Valencia test in a couple of weeks time!
Things are beginning to really shape up inside the factory; the work benches have been installed and are ready for when all the cars return from their various races and test sessions around the world. As it stands most of the cars wont be back in the factory until December, so we’ll have to go a few more weeks without seeing our beautiful cars all lined up in their new home.
We’ve been in Abu Dhabi this weekend for the non-championship GP2 finale and while it was a disappointing last race for the team we’re confident we’re building a strong team heading into only our second season in 2012.
There’s also been some pretty exciting news emerging over the past few weeks in regards to the young driver F1 test inAbu Dhabi. Four drivers, who have driven with us this year, have been selected to take part in the test. Max Chilton will be driving for Force India, Jean-Eric Vergne will drive the Red Bull car for three days, Robert Wickens will get behind the wheel of both the Marussia Virgin F1 car and the Lotus Renault car. Joining him at Renault will be Jan Charouz who is part of their driver academy.
A pretty good line-up, if we do say so ourselves.
Most of the team left last night for Macau ahead of the infamous Grand Prix which takes place this coming weekend. It’s going to be a hugely busy and exciting week for them and we’ll make sure to keep you all fully updated with how the team and drivers are doing in China. Until then make sure you keep a keen eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages – chances are there will be some great photos heading your way over the next few days as the boys prepare for the big race.
