Race preparations and late nights

It’s that time of year again, Macau is on the horizon. Four Carlin cars will be flying out soon ready to tackle the infamous street circuit. In fact the F3 team have been non-stop for the past few weeks preparing for Macau and testing at the same time. With such little time to turn everything around the lads are working some very long hours to make sure that everything is perfect for the race.

Packing for Macau

They’ve also been out testing this week at the Nürburgring and will make a quick dash to Spa soon after to go testing on Monday and Tuesday! It’s likely that a mass order of coffee, takeaways and bacon sarnies will be needed to keep the troops going on their many late nights from now until Macau!

In further F3 news we’ve announced this week the first driver of our 2012 line-up, Carlos Sainz. The Red Bull backed driver has had a successful past few years and joins Carlin ahead of the 2012 season in which the new cars will be making their first appearance.

The GP2 team get ready for Abu Dhabi

It’s now just over a week until the non-championship GP2 Finale in Abu Dhabi so the team have been getting everything ready to fly over to the Emirate state – from cars to garage boards and everything else in between. This will be the team’s second appearance in Abu Dhabi and although it is a stand-alone race, it will be the last GP2 round of the 2011 season before preparation starts for our second year competing in the series.

With two long haul flights facing the team, the pressure is really on. However every late night and early morning start will be worth it to see the Carlin cars competing out on track in Abu Dhabi and Macau.

Quickly before we sign off, we can’t wait to tell you about our GP2 Abu Dhabi line up – announcement imminent.
